Why

Reduce tuberculosis (TB) infections and deaths in Kenya by supporting community-based TB detection, diagnosis, and treatment.

What

In Kenya, tuberculosis is the fourth leading cause of death, making it a significant public health challenge. CMMB is equipping, supporting, and building the capacity of local community health systems to better combat TB.

At the community level, we support TB prevention activities and care. Our work includes a special emphasis on addressing the TB incidence rate among people living with HIV—and providing community health systems with the needed resources to provide quality care.

Because contact tracing and case management are vital to containing the spread of TB, we are strengthening the health management information system. With CMMB Kenya’s support, communities can track cases and supply data to national platforms.

With the goal of improving TB-related outcomes across Kenya, we also provide mentorship and training to community health workers.
