Preventing sexual and gender-based violence is a major challenge for Kenya. According to the 2022 Kenya National Bureau of Statistics, nearly half of women between the ages of 15 and 49 have experienced some form of physical violence. The prevalence of domestic violence, physical assault, rape, and forced marriage creates a public health crisis—one that disproportionately affects women. To end gender-based violence, CMMB  works to strengthen the way communities respond to violence survivors.
